Our Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM) is a portland cement based (slag and rock wool) material designed to provide fire resistive ratings for structural steel and concrete. It is ideal for commercial applications, including decking, steel beams and concrete in high-rises, parking garages, mechanical rooms and elevator shafts. It satisfies the code requirements for such organizations as International Building Code (IBC), International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), and Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA). Additionally, our fire resistive material complies with the requirements of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. EPA, and Veterans Administration, among others.
Some benefits of spray-applied fire resistive material include:
- Added Thermal and Acoustical Properties – Offers an average insulation R-value of 3 per inch, as well as sound-absorbing qualities ideal for high-noise levels
- Quick and Easy Application – Spray-applied in one application that requires no pre-mixing, thus reducing installation time and labor costs
- Environmentally Friendly – High recycled content, mold and mildew resistant, non-corrosive on steel, non-combustible, and meets Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design™ (LEED) Green Building Council standards
